This Knowledge Base article will show you how to connect to your Fresno State computer using Windows Remote Access on a Windows computer.
Before you are able to use Windows Remote Access you must have the Fresno State VPN install on your computer and know the name of your Fresno State computer that you will be connecting to.

Once you have the VPN installed and the name of your Fresno State computer please follow the steps below to setup Windows Remote Access.
1. Please click on the Windows Start Icon in the lower left hand corner of your screen.
2. One you click on the windows start icon please type in “Remote Desktop Connections” without the quotes. Then Select the Icon Saying Remote Desktop Connections.
3. Once you have clicked on the application a new window will popup. In this new window it will ask you for a computer name. This will be the name of your Fresno State Computer. Once you have entered your computer name you will click on the connect button.
4. After you click connect a new box will popup asking for your username and password. This will be the same username and password that you use to log into your Fresno State computer. Once you have entered in your username and password please click the ok button.
5. You should now be connected to your Fresno State work computer. Please see the image below for an example of Remote Desktop Connections that has successfully connected.
6. Please note that if you have followed all the steps above but are still unable to Remote into your Desktop it might have to ask for the right to Remote into your Fresno State computer. To get these right you can call the Service Desk at 559-278-5000 or fill out the work order below.
