Wondering how to remote into your windows desktop from anywhere using an IOS device? This article will provide instructions on how to connect your Fresno State computer using Windows Remote Access on a IOS device. 

Resolution:
Please note that before you are able to use Windows Remote Access you must have the Fresno State VPN installed on your computer and you must know the name of your Fresno State computer OR the IP address of the Fresno State Computer that you will be connecting to.

With the VPN installed, please follow the steps below to setup Windows Remote Access on your IOS devices. 

  1. On your IOS device please click on the App Store.
  2. Once you are in your App Store please click on the Search Icon in the lower right corner of your device. You will then type in Windows App Mobile, previously known as Remote Desktop
  3. Press the "get" button and patiently wait until the app is installed. Once the app is installed, you will click on the Open button.
  4. The application will now open. At this point we will now click on the plus symbol in the upper right hand corner of your screen.
  5. Now on the third option, click on the button "PC Name"
  6. You will now type in the name of your Fresno State computer also known as an Asset. (you may also put the IP address if you know it).
  7. After entering in your computer name or your IP address, you will then click save in the upper right hand corner of your screen.
  8. You will now have your Fresno State computer added to the Microsoft Remote Desktop app on your IOS device. You will now click on the computer that you have just added.
  9. Once you click the computer that you have added a box will popup. Please enter in your Fresno State username and password. This will be the same password that you enter when logging into your Fresno State computer. You will then click continue. 
  10. If all the steps are completed you will be able to see your homepage of your Fresno State Computer.
